Chairman's Brief Profile

Hussain Sultan Al Junaidy had had numerous high-profile positions on his return from the UK in the late sixties where he spent 8 years studying and qualifying as a Chartered Civil Engineer after completing his BSc degree at Glasgow University.

Hussain Sultan has been working for over half a century starting as CEO of Caltex (not Chevron), Founder and Group CEO of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) from 1975 to 2007, Executive Chairman and CEO of Dragon Oil, Executive Chairman of Petrogas Construction Company. He held for many years the position of Chairman of the Board of Governors of Dubai College, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Investments and Chairman of the UK IFAN (International Aids to Navigation). He continues to manage successful private companies such as Riverside Investments, Neptune Energy Trading and Lahej & Sultan Group of Companies.

Hussain Sultan Al Junaidy has always understood, first-hand, the value of a club in a city. He was involved in the first proper business club in the country, the Passport Club by Dubai Creek, as well as the World Trade Centre Club that was launched a decade later. And in 2016, when the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) needed a social and networking environment, Hussain Sultan Al Junaidy was part of the first shareholders to birth the idea for the four-floors Capital Club Dubai.

Chairman's Message

Capital Club Dubai is poised to bring many interesting and exclusive experiences to the business community in the city. My father was my role model and influence. He had a high value for education and hard work and instilled in us an inner drive to achieve. He always told us to listen to wise and knowledgeable people, learn from them, be ambitious and innovative and continue to excel. With an attitude for continuous learning and consistently improving, we can be best. I believe that competition only makes you better. After a few mistakes and retakes over the last 14 years, this is finally the club I always dreamed of, and I believe it can become an Institution we can all be proud of.

We offer our members a high comfort and quality place to naturally and leisurely network with others in the growing business community, without the stress of searching for the right people. We know our members well and look after them as family, finding ways to personalise their requirements, to help them grow, professionally and personally. Our Club has been voted one of CNN's top ten most exclusive private members' clubs in the world, and we also offer a reciprocal club partnership with International Associate Clubs (IAC) that allows Capital Club Members access to over 300 world-class private business, City athletic, country, or golf clubs. With mini think-tank membership committees, including a government committee, it has a special ear of the rulers and policymakers who are keen to understand the private sectors’ perspectives.

The Club has become a trusted and neutral platform that bridges the conversations between government and private sector thought leadership, conceptualizes, and engages important discussions, produces knowledge content for informed decision-making.

I believe that all success is attributed to the team and the people I work with. Retirement is an excuse to do nothing. I have lots more to do and many more miles to go.
